Labyrinth Quilt

Finished Shelley’s labyrinth quilt this week, and I really enjoyed quilting this.

Baby Quilt Finished

Well, after three Amazon Stars in a row, I was glad to see this simple yet elegant baby quilt come up in the queue.  I chose the Alex design by Ann Bright.

Amazon Times Three

I have been negligent in posting here on the blog so I will try to catch you up with glimpses of what has been going on in the work room of Quilted Dreams.

The last photo I posted was of my Amazon Star at the beginning of the quilting process.  Well, it is quilted but the binding and label have not been attached so the photos of it are in sections.  I promise to post a photo of the entire quilt but it will have to be when my sweet husband can help me hang the monster!

When I got mine off the frame, I then began work on another Amazon Star that belongs to my dear friend, Kathy, who has entered in the State Fair of Texas’s quilt show.  She will find out after September 1st if her quilt will actually be exhibited at the fair.  I have positive vibes about this one….

And believe it or not, a third Amazon Star was load immediately after Kathy picked hers up.  This one belongs to another dear friend, Shelley, who plans to enter hers in the Des Moines guild show which is held in conjunction with the AQS show in Des Moines.  We will be visiting this quilt there in October and hope to see a ribbon on that one as well.

I have been remiss in posting progress on this MONSTER of a quilt so I am finally posting a few pictures. I am almost finished so look for more photos soon.

Star is loaded

I finally got the Amazon Star loaded on to Myrtle’s frame. Amazon is the correct term because it is 104 x 104 inches. I got off to a really good start and was making good progress until the storms started. Too much lightening so I had to stop; hopefully, things will calm down and I can get back to it this evening. Keep watching for progress reports on this beauty.

Which UFO

Our guild is having a UFO challenge this year instead of a BOM and I can’t decide which one of my UFO’s to complete for this challenge.  Of course, like most of us, I have LOTS of unfinished projects to choose from!  I ponder if I should choose the oldest or one that is more simple so that it won’t be such a “challenge” to complete by the December deadline.  Hmmmm, what to do, what to do?

I just finished a stack ‘n whack quilt that was donated to our guild, Quilter’s Guild of Parker County, for the annual auction to be held May 17th.  At first, I thought this was a stretch for me, but it all came together and I hope it brings in the bids at the auction.
